With primaries a little less than six months away, State Rep. Van Taylor, (R-Plano), is picking up a lot of local support.
In separate press releases this week, his campaign has announced three-fourths of the Frisco precinct chairs in Senate District 8 have endorsed him, as well as every Collin County Caucus Chair in the district.
Brian Fletcher, one of the Frisco precinct chairs to endorse Taylor, said in a press release the representative is a “super conservative” and has no doubt he is the right man for the job.
“His voting record speaks for itself,” Fletcher said. “There’s no one more qualified to be our next Texas Senator than Van Taylor.”
During his time in politics, Taylor has received the “Taxpayer Champion” award from Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, the “Courageous Conservative” award from Texas Conservative Coalition, an A+ rating from the National Rifle Association and he was the first candidate for any office in the 2014 election cycle to be “TeaApproved” by the North Texas Tea Party.
Frisco precinct chair BJ Bjorklund said Taylor’s credentials are impressive and will serve him well in his campaign.
“I believe Van has the background as a state representative that we need as a state senator,” Bjorklund said. “His unwavering, independent, conservative thinking will be an important asset both for our district as well as the state of Texas.”
Taylor said the strength of his campaign is the grassroots energy and activism, and the support of these endorsements will allow him to continue to spread his message.
