Conservative Van Taylor Launches First Television Ad

PLANO, TX – Representative Van Taylor today unveiled an introductory campaign commercial which highlights his service as a United States Marine and proven conservative leadership in the Texas House.

“Steadfast, conservative leadership has propelled Texas as a national leader in job growth, business climate, and economic opportunity. But we cannot rest on our past success, and we cannot take our future for granted,” stated Representative Van Taylor. “With the support and encouragement from so many across the district, I am running for Texas Senate to fight for our conservative values to create jobs, lower taxes, and rein in government spending. Over the next several months we will continue to build on our strong grassroots effort and share our conservative message with the people of Senate District 8.”

The initial television spot, running on cable systems across the district, reminds voters of Taylor's background as a conservative leader, family man, and Plano businessman. Widely recognized as a conservative leader in the Texas House, Taylor has earned the “Taxpayer Champion” award from Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, the “Courageous Conservative” award from Texas Conservative Coalition, was named a “Top-Rated Conservative” by the Texas Eagle Forum, and received an A+ rating from the National Rifle Association.  Throughout his tenure in the Texas House Taylor has consistently fought to rein in government spending, protect the rainy day fund, and stop the expansion of Obamacare in Texas.

In his campaign for Texas Senate, Taylor was the first candidate for any office in the 2014 election cycle to be “TeaApproved” by the North Texas Tea Party, and has earned the endorsements from trusted conservative organizations like Conservative Republicans of Texas, Texans for Lawsuit Reform, Texans for Fiscal Responsibility, and Texas Right to Life.  Additionally he has received the unanimous endorsement of the entire Senate District 8 House Delegation consisting of Representatives Jodie Laubenberg, Scott Turner, Scott Sanford, Jeff Leach, Stefani Carter, and Angie Chen Button.  Building on his strong grassroots effort, Taylor has also earned the support of every Republican Caucus Chair in Senate District 8.

Van and his wife, Anne, married after his return from Iraq and are the proud parents of Laura, 8, Helen, 7, and Susie, 3. Van and his family reside in Plano near the land his great-grandfather farmed during the Great Depression.
